Students shall register with respective academic department in NUS and meet all requirements for admission, matriculation, progression and graduation set by the respective department and faculty.

Typically, the students will spend the first year in NUS, subsequent two years in the respective NUSRI in China, and the final year of research work in NUS. The students are required to complete faculties’ requirements of coursework, comprehensive qualifying examination, oral qualifying exam, seminars, PhD dissertation and the oral defence before being conferred the NUS PhD.
